Growing in Faith and Values: ASHA Sponsorship Day Celebrated with Children and Families
ASHA Charitable Trust joyfully celebrated its Sponsorship Day for children supported by the Archdiocese of Bangalore on 18 January 2026 at the St. Mary’s Block Hall, ASHA Charitable Trust Office. The programme brought together nearly 200 children, along with their parents and family members, in a spirit of faith, joy, and togetherness. The day reaffirmed ASHA’s commitment to nurturing young lives through education, values, and family support.
The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Sunny Richard, Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Church, Kavalbyrasandra, who was the main celebrant and chief guest. The Eucharistic celebration offered a prayerful foundation for the day, uniting children, families, staff, and volunteers in gratitude and hope. Special prayers were offered for ASHA’s donors and their families, as well as for the children, parents, animators, and all who accompany them throughout the year.
In his homily, Fr. Sunny spoke to the children using the image of the Lamb of God, encouraging them to grow as pure-hearted, gentle, and sincere individuals. He invited them to choose goodness, truth, and kindness in their daily lives, reminding them that small good choices shape them into better human beings.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Sunny addressed the parents, highlighting the vital role of family influence in a child’s growth and encouraging them to be positive role models through love, patience, and mutual respect.
The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts and a common lunch, fostering a strong sense of belonging and community. The day ended with hearts filled with gratitude and renewed hope, as ASHA continues its mission of building a future rooted in values, compassion, and shared responsibility.
